I hadn't been in Vegas 20 minutes when I got word that the bookmakers were offering three to one that Frank wouldn't show for my wedding.

I had a big troupe a big army and it was a lot of fun. And after 10 years of that I just decided that I wanted to travel and do special dates. I go to Las Vegas these days.

I love the live performances and Las Vegas. I also like making films that are being discovered by another generation. Having been a teen idol of the '60s is great because you realize you left your generation with a smile and good memories.

'Vegas' was something very close to me. I had such a blast doing that. I'm still a little upset that we never really got to shoot that final episode. So many people were invested in it. I'll always be sad about that.

I've been married before but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it's casual quick not religious and most of all very romantic.

My Vegas act is how I make my money.

I did my time for the rape. I paid my money to Las Vegas. I paid my dues.

Marriage is a big deal but who's to say I'm not going to pull a Vegas and get married to see what it's like for a minute?

But Vegas is really my first home.

Vegas means comedy tragedy happiness and sadness all at the same time.

It's funny how many people will come to Vegas to see your show where they might not come out to see you unless you come to their hometown.

There is great food in Vegas.

People don't know where to place me. Terry Gilliam used me as a quirky cop in 'Twelve Monkeys' and then he hired me again to be an effeminate hotel clerk in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. Another time I was shooting this indie film 'The Souler Opposite' and six days a week I'm playing this big puppy dog then I come to the 'NYPD Blue' set and become this scumbag.

And actually about three weeks ago Micky Peter and I were in Vegas at the MGM Grand. And we did about 12 shows in seven days. It was quite an experience.

Las Vegas is a very strange place. It's a place of broken dreams.

The cool parts - the parts that have won Dubai its reputation as 'the Vegas of the Middle East' or 'the Venice of the Middle East' or 'the Disney World of the Middle East if Disney World were the size of San Francisco and out in a desert' - have been built in the last ten years.

I basically left Texas with no money. I was making $3.50 working in some mall so I didn't have a lot of cash. I took $1 000 and headed to California. Along the way I stopped in Vegas because I had always wanted to see Caesar's Palace. So I stopped there and won $2 500 on a slot machine! It was amazing.

I've been able to go on and have a successful career on Broadway and certainly the last five years in Las Vegas have been amazing.

Of course this is Vegas and it is the melting pot for all over the world but people from all over the world know Donny and Marie. It is amazing. I have been in the business a long time to realize careers can be fleeting. Five years is a long career nowadays for some people and here we are still going strong after 40 years.

I've had two romances since moving to Las Vegas. One was with somebody 12 years older than me and the other was the same age and neither worked out. I know people still think of me as one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends and he of course was much older than me but that was a whole different lifestyle and a different kind of dating.
